Support for Fledgling Businesses
The Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a non-profit, university-based resource serving the needs of small business and entrepreneurs. Located at the Idaho State University Business and Research Park, the Pocatello center is one of a network of six regional offices.
The development center's mission is to deliver up-to-date counseling, training, and technical assistance in all aspects of small business management, with a primary goal of helping small business owners and potential business owners make sound decisions for the successful operation of their business.

TechConnect East
Resource for Science and Technology Enterprise
As a regional technology resource center, TechConnect East is positioned to assist new and growing technology enterprises achieve success in the marketplace. Located in the ISU Business and Research Park, TechConnect East offers entrepreneurs and innovators expert research and development advice, grant writing expertise, and a connection for avenues of funding. Services also include assistance with market research and development.
TechConnect East is the product of Former Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne's Science and Technology Strategy for Idaho, a six-point plan that calls for increased investments in education, work force training, research and development, university/industry collaboration, venture capital and broadband connectivity. Pocatello was selected as the first of four planned regional science and technology support centers, in large part because of the area's existing high-tech infrastructure.

Idaho State University Research and Business Park
Fostering Development of Science and Technology
Encompassing approximately 300 acres and located just a mile east of ISU's main campus, the Idaho State University Research and Business Park provides building sites for lease to organizations or businesses wishing to develop research, educational, and/or cultural relationships with the University.
The park represents a cooperative effort between ISU and the City of Pocatello, with a primary goal of strengthening the area's economic base. Part of a national movement to ensure that our nation competes globally in creating and developing science, technology, and research that is commercially viable, the Idaho State University Business and Research Park operates through collaboration among industry, government, and university entities.
A pleasant mountain setting surrounds the park, while access to Interstate transportation (I-15) is only minutes away. Area hospitals and major hotels are nearby, and fiber optic cable supports high technology computer applications, data transmission and communications.
