Convergys to hire more than 100 employees

   POCATELLO — Convergys announced plans to hire more than 100 full- and part-time positions Thursday as the company gears up for anticipated inbound calls.

   Amy Williams, Convergys public relations senior manager, said the Pocatello call center currently has about 700 employees from the floor to those who may work from home.

   Starting pay with Convergys is at $9.50 plus incentives. A recruitment open house is slated for Wednesday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Convergys, located at 805 N. Main St.

   Williams said some call centers may “ramp up” personnel for temporary terms such as heath care open enrollment or special client programs. The hiring at this time is for anticipated long-term positions, Williams said. “We are ramping up to meet an anticipated increase in our client’s business,” said

   Brett Hyde, site leader for the Convergys contact center in Pocatello issued a press release.

   “These positions are ideally suited to anyone who appreciates the importance of building strong customer relationships while helping resolve a caller’s inquiries or concerns,” the release said.

   According to a press release, employees of Convergys are offered, include, comprehensive training, competitive wages plus performance incentives, medical benefits and tuition reimbursement.

   Jobs require customer service or technical support experience, strong computer/keyboarding skills and work with flexible schedules. Background checks and drug screenings are also part of the application process.
